Leveling your Chargemaster 1500

On some items I have had success with using single edge razor blades which really are like a miniature wedge.

Years ago bought a black granite tool room grade surface plate. I roughly measures 12"X 18" and weighs 26 pounds. For me it was much easier to level than my bench. Made a special bench for weighing my charges, it's 4 feet high plus the surface plate. Resulting in less bending over to look straight at the scale. I'm old school and you ain't working if your sitting.

My scales sit on a 2 inch thick piece of granite I got down at the local counter top contractor. It came from their scrap bonepile. I paid $25 for them to square the corners and polish 3 edges but were going to give me the scrap for nothing. Business cards are used for leveling

I think the OP is not asking about the table top, but how to adjust the eight leveling screws on the CM (four are in the middle where the two components mate)??? On this basis I use a bubble to set the four corners to level, then lower the middle ones to just touch without altering level. Soon I am going to experiment with elevating the discharge side in order to reduce the powder rate during trickling, which is the critical stage.

I recommend adding a bubble level to the top face of the chargemaster, as J F Johannes showed. I use these smaller ones.
Bubble level

I glued it onto the top , next to the pan. I found it is must faster and more accurate when you level it each time you use it.

I also use these bubble levels inset into the top of my rotary shooting table, as it helps level the system.

I agree with Charlie NC on how to level the 6 legs.

You could try one of these. Place on the platen.

Jim

That is exactly what I did. I did find that the level platen is different than the level of the three point plate that the Chargemaster is sitting on, not by much though. I am going to work with the feet some more.

Setting the bubble level around different places on the machine gave different results than setting it on the platen, but the platen is where everything happens, so that is where I decided to put it.

I was curious to see how others approached the issue, and thanks for the replies.
