Leupold Warranty Older Comp Scopes?

Been looking for a thread this morning and can't find it. It was about how Leupold isn't doing warranty work on the Competition 45x scopes any more because they no longer have parts for them. My question is are they still doing warranty work on the Competition 40x? I have one that needs work but if they no longer work on them either I'll have to do something different. Thanks

I sent email to Leupold recently regarding this. They indicated it's business as usual for warranty on Competition scopes or any of their scopes that have not been modified. Probably best to have this post in the discussion area and not in classifieds.

They are not doing warranty on Competition 36x 40x 45x, and have no equivalent scopes as replacement unfortunately

They just rebuilt a Competition 40x for me. Excellent service. I did an online warranty request. I recommend calling first also.

I am glad that they took care of 40X for you. That was not my experience with the 36x. They were very nice to offer a substitute scope after a month of my scope being sent in for service in 2024. They told me that they do not have the ability to fix it and same for 45x.
I do not have 1st hand knowledge of 40x. I assumed the same, so my bad.
You should register on Leupold website and create a warranty case to mail in the scope. They will contact you after a few weeks to call them with the repair options or to pick another similar scope or company credit towards future purchase.

I sent a 36x in for service in January of 24. After them having it for 5.5:6 weeks they sent me an email. Unable to repair but would replace.

45 was not an option, they are all out at retail stores and no longer being made.

One may get lucky and get the problem where simple cheap parts are in stock when repairs are necessary. Probably has a lot to do with what repair tech looks it as well as back log.

So those are the old 36X scopes not the newer competition 35X, 40X, 45X scopes. That may be the difference in the story that I got. Thanks for sharing the explanation.

I guess it depends on what parts they have in inventory. Couldn’t fix my 45x, sent a Mark 5 replacement, great scope but not on a BR rifle. Told me there’s no market in short range anymore
