Leupold VX 6 scopes

I have been browsing the scopes for a custom Ruger #1 in 6mmbr i will be using for fox and coyotes and any ground hogs that may show themselves. I need plenty field of view alot here where i hunt as i do alot in open woods and so forth. I came across these VX6 scopes as i was researching something for the rifle. I am really liking what i see and the field of view is very, very generous on the low powers. The 2x12 is what i am looking at. Anyone here using one of these scopes. Trying to find out some info on these before i decide to plunk down a grand for one.

I have a few of the VX7 line Dan, and just recently got my hands on a VX6. I believe it is every bit as quality in every way by comparison. I find this line to be second to none in the optics industry.

Its good to hear that. How do you like the glass? I have used some Conquest scopes in the past and have been very happy with them and the glass. I can save myself a couple hundred on some other choices but the field of view suffers greatly compared to these scopes. I do not need lots of magnification but do need field of view and some nice glass to do the job.

Dan, I would rate the glass as exceptional. The VX6 & VX7 glass might possibly be sourced from a different manufacturer than the glass used in the less expensive models? It could well be the same glass used in the competition line with a different coating. Whatever the case, it's good stuff! Very good! Typical LEUPOLD quality.

Thank you very much for your help and input on my questions. I am just about 100% sure you helped make my mind up on buying one of these scopes. I can say their is really nothing about the scope that i do not like. The 2-12 scope i believe will be a perfect match for the Ruger #1 and will do some devastation on the coyote population this fall and winter. ;D
