Leupold VX 6 3.5-18x44 scopes

Just wondering if anybody Owns one of these and what they think of it? I do have one and like it but heard they have discontinued them and just wondering why?

I was interested in trying the new VX6HD just because I think it’s the one with the internal level indicator. Great idea.

I build a handful of rifles in 2017, but the 7mmRM with the VX-6HD 3-18x44 shot all 7 deer.

I have scopes that cost twice as much, but that is the best scope I have ever hunting with.

I have glaucoma in my right eye. I need a lot of contrast. My scope needs are high.

I like the Fine Duplex Reticle in the VX-6 and have 3 or 4 scopes with that set-up. I can't find the fine duplex in the VX-6HD..I see the Fire Dot but not the Fine Duplex.

I'm with you on the fine plex, not many offerings. Must be harder to manufacture

I had a VX6 with the wide duplex in 3-18x50. It was an excellent scope and wish I had never sold it with the rifle a couple years back. I would love to have 1 of the new VX6hd or VX5hd scopes. I just can not understand why their is such a huge price difference between the 3-15x44 VX5hd fire dot duplex and the 3-18x44 VX6hd fire dot duplex when everything is the same except you are getting 18 power and not 15. Is it really worth paying that much more to get 3 more power top end when everything else is equal or is their something I am not seeing?

Leupold pioneered the duplex reticle way back when. I am surprised they don't offer it in all their scopes today. I have been a "big" Leupold fan over the years and have probably bought and used 20 or more of their top of the line scopes. In the last few years I have gone to the Z5 Swarovski scopes with the Ballistic turrets and I have found that scope to be brighter, clearer and the 4 or 5 that I have now track perfectly. Its nice to have options.........

I have both, if I were to order another it would be the Z-5 for sure.1 lb.,18 power , positive clicks with free ballistic turret from sportsman outdoor for $400 less

I'm with you about the Z 5. I bought a Z6 in 3x18 and it is a very nice scope but I can't see any difference in clarity or brightness. Its 15" long compared to about 14.29 for the Z5. For me, 15" is getting a little long for a short sporting rifle.. The Swarovski scopes have really impressed me !!!
