Leupold vs Sightron 45x45

They are both similar in price and carry a lifetime warranty. If given the choice between the two, which one would you choose and why?

I had a sightron for a brief time. Compared it do my 40x LCS and I liked the glass in the 40x a little better. Color was good on the sightron but maybe not as clear. The side focus was pickier than the leupold. I sold the sightron because I didn’t see anything it had over the Leupold. I didn’t have a 45x LCS to compare because I’ve always preferred the 40x. The 1/10 moa dot and adjustments are nice though. Unfortunately I didn’t have a scope checker when I had the sightron. I would’ve liked to check POA shift.

Like any new product coming on the market,
before it's available there are plenty of keyboard
buyers with lots of chatter. Once the 45 Sightron
surfaced it seemed to fade very quickly.
IMHO for a fixed power 40 would be the limit
on bad condition days. LDS

the side focus on the sightrons is picky, my 36brd is much clearer than the 8x32 or 10x50 in the 1000 dollars class range I know nothing of the higher class sightrons that are in the 1500 to 2200 dollar class range, but I have never looked through a LCS scope ither so just keyboard talk for me but my next scope will be a LCS but I would rather have a NF 12x42x56 it trumps the sightron and loopy

The LCS has been referred to as a UPS scope because they have issues of holding point of impact. The new 45 power Sightron doesn't have that issue for a lot less money..... jim

I had no issues for years with a March HM 48 power in mirage and I could see 6mm. bullet holes at 400 yds. it was easy to shoot at all ranges in mirage..... jim

I haven’t seen many test results on the Sightron. One has been around for almost a decade and probably the most used scope in short range benchrest and the other just came out this year. I’d say the jury is still out on the sightron. What is YOUR experience with both scopes?

The 45x45 ED just came out this year....... I had one LCS a 45 power it was ok but never shot great and it went down the road. The Sightron is on a rimfire right now it shoots good and will go down to 50 feet for indoor..... jim

I’d love to see actual test results with a scope checker and centerfire rifle with the sightron before saying it’s more likely to hold poa over a new LCS.

I have yet to see any.

I remember seeing where they were checked and the Sightron was rock solid..... jim

18 months Later any updated information. I always thought Leupold were the best for the money, Not any more. I take a Sightron over a Loupe in the 45x45 fixed power scope. Now March is the better, but almost twice the price.
