I have an opportunity to buy a used Mark 6. Doing some checks on various forums and don't want to get burned. It's a 3-18x44 with M5C2 turret, TMR. What I've read is glass is just OK for the price. I've read about issues with tracking, but I'm not as concerned with that, as I understand Leupold will make that right if it doesn't.
So, if I buy it, and don't like the glass (compared to a Bushnell ERS), I would post it for sale.
So, to the question and the main point of the post. What would be a safe number to pay, that I would be able to resell if I chose and not lose money. In other words, I post it for said price and it sells in a week. Low retail, good deal, too hard to pass up pricing but not low; or what YOU would still be willing to sell it for if it was YOUR scope and wanted it sold quick. In other words, not some stupid low price like $10, which would obviously sell in a second flat.
I see asking prices for used Mark 6's of $1,400, but not sure if they are actually selling for this amount. Is that too high in the current market with the Mark 5's? Is $1,200 to $1,300 the number?
