I recently got a Leupold VX-2 3-12x40 with the LR dots and sighted it in on my 270 with 130gr Accubonds. Leupold directions call for a zero sight in at 200 yds. (for all calibers on the list) but after looking at ballistic calculators for my load I adjusted my zero sight in to 150 yds to make the 300/400/500 points of impact closer to calculator values. Sighted it in and shot at 100, 300, and 500 yds off a benchrest. For the 300 and 500 yds shots I used milk jugs of water for targets and was fairly accurate hitting the 300's 100% and the 500's about 50%. The 500 yd jugs that I missed was basically windage as I was hitting a few inches right which coincided with the breeze direction.
I plan to get more accurate information by setting paper targets up on my next outing to get a little more precise than milk jugs.
I'm just wondering if anyone here uses that reticle and their experiences with it?
Also any advice in using or sighting in with this reticle?
