Leupold Comp. turret-dial loose

Hi,

I have a Leupold Competition,since 1999) and the windage turret has become very loose,can hardly rotate it without slipping). Does anyone know how to remove the turret or how to fix this?

Send it in to Leupold. They'll fix it for free and get it back to you within about two weeks. I've sent several hard-used hunting and SWAT scopes into them for repair over the years. Outstanding customer service.

They'll give the whole scope a good once-over too, checking and fixing anything.

Just box it up, send it in with a note describing the problem, and they'll treat you right.

There are three setscrews at the top/outer edge of each turret, and they can be tightened with a small allen wrench. The allen sockets are prone to strip out, so there's an aftermarket solution,I bought mine through Lock, Stock & Barrel for ~$12) that replaces them with torx screws that are a lot more durable.

I'm in europe, don't think there is a repair center in the area and I can't miss the thing for a few months.

The only screw I can see is the one in the top of each turret,same size torx as to fasten scope rings). I'll check again to be sure though.
