Leupold 36x vs Competition series vs ???

I have a T36 and I'm happy with it on my .22lr but it isn't very bright. The older leuold 36x I looked through was maybe a tad brighter but I didn't like that it had 1/4 moa adjustment opposed to the weavers 1/8.

I'm considering a 40x competition and was wondering if the extra money for the competition series is worth it?

Or is there another scope in the $750 or less price range with same magnification and weight that I should consider?

The latest LCS scopes are onsiderably better than the 36's in pretty much every respect.
As a very viable alternative at a little less $, consider the re introduced Weaver XR 46X's they are a well made optic.

I'll 2nd Tim on the XR's for the $$$. I have a 36XR that I feel is clearer than my 40 Comp. Great glass.

For the price of a new Weaver 46, you could find a used LCS on this site for less. It will have the lifetime quarantee....the Weaver will not- they have changed ownership 5x, and their customer service historically is a crap shoot. Many comp shooters will convince themselves it is a scope problem when they start having accuracy problems when there are other issues at hand. The current trend is to spend big money to fix a non-existent POA problem. Using an LCS for rimfire, and careful transporting the mounted scope (to minimize any side loading on the turrets) it should perform well for a long time. Buy one that has just been checked by the factory for ease of mind.

I appreciate the input. The scope I'm looking to buy will not be on a rimfire rifle. It will be on a 6 PPC LV rifle. That is why POI shift is something I'm taking into considertion.
