Most likely they will give you a steep discount on a modern offering comparable model. This just happened last Friday , and I just saw some other posts about scope repair .
Call Leupold first. They will tell you if they have the parts to fix it. They don't have very many.I probably should just junk it . But that way I would need two scopes . Last week when I was shooting at the range the target got blurry , the scope is a OLD Leupold 36X I know just junk it . But living on SS makes money tight . Anyone repair them any more ?
I had a range finder years out of warranty. The display started to fade. They sold me the latest 2800 TBR range finder for $250 shipped. I didn't have to send my old one back! So I use one for archery and the other for ELR.Does not matter the age, the guys in Beaverton will either fix it or most likely replace it as has been mentioned. After 50+ years of buying them, I still do. Best warranty in the business.
Be sure to post the outcome.
I have no use for a 3-9 scope .They no longer have parts for the 36 but they will credit you on another scope or send you a 3-9 to replace it
What are it’s symptoms?
I have had lots of the 36x Leupolds apart. Tell me what it is doing.
The VX5-6 glass is phenomenal!I don't see how you could be disappointed in any offer Lepold makes. I removed a Leupold euro scope, or some ridiculous name that Leupold used on this scope from a friends rifle because it was not working. Sent it and a 6 power to Leupold and they told me that they had no parts for the Euro scope. Pick a scope on the website and we will credit you the value of the Euro and if what you pick costs more than the Euro value you pay the difference. Freind picked VX6 3-18 for his 300win mag and I called the rep at Leupold. Your friend must be clairvoyant he only left one penny on the table. he XV6 was valued at $999.99 and they gave a credit of $1000. on the euro. The euro was a POS with a bunch of soft rubber on the power knob and the adjustable objective, that was worn out and shedding, in addition to internal problems. This scope was over 20 years old. Everyone makes a lemon but Leupold paid for this mistake with a nice new scope, that was as clear as any Nightforce I've ever looked through.
But I only shoot benchrest any more and you have to have a 36X or larger to hit a pencil dot at 100 yds . Yes I guess I can sell it .The VX5-6 glass is phenomenal!
