Leupold 36x benchrest scope (worth)

I have a Leupold 36 benchrest on this 6PPC I purchased a few years back. I may be interested in selling it. I have no clue how old it is, but the glass and scope are in very good shape. There is a piece that is sticking out from where the scope adjustments are and I believe it is called a Turner conversion, but I may be wrong. I would like to replace the scope with something in a variable. What should I be looking to get out of the scope.

It is a Tucker conversion most likely. I see them regularly +/- $550. I wouldn't sell mine for that though

A quick look using the Search function shows one selling for $ 380 . The Tucker conversion may help or hinder the sale . Depends who is interested.

You have a very nice scope with a Tucker conversion in it. I have had a couple like yours. Its worth in the $500 range.

how about Gene Bukys TSI mount with a frozen reticle 36x Luepold Benchrest scope? what is that worth?

The reason I am possibly going to sell this scope is I get quite a bit of miraging with it, and I know it is affecting my accuracy. The rifle is a 6PPC, but I am not, and have never shot "real" competition. If I had a scope that I could back the power down when needed I think I would be more satisified with it. But what I am also finding is that most the scopes I am interested in need 30mm rings. They can easily run 100 dollars up.
But I will keep looking. If I get 500 for mine it looks like I will have to sink an additional 700 or more into a scope and rings.

Any high power scope is going to show the mirage. That is not a bad thing on a PPC. The mirage can be just as helpful in shooting small groups as wind flags.

Gosh Joe, thanks for the call out. I thought we were buddies. You and I both know that the mirage gives a false view of were the POA is and unless you are shooting a rail you had better allow for it.
How to do that is the question, just like it is with the wind. Peanut can probably give as much info as I can. Besides you are the one with the HOF points, not me.

Hey golfer2b, come on over and shoot with us at Holton and you will learn quickly about mirage. It is absolutely frustrating the first time you witness it. When you look through your scope and can barely see the lines on the target and the wonderful gentleman on the bench next to you shoots a .218" at 200yds.
After having someone explain to me what I was seeing down there, it started to make some sense.
Oh Steve, I figured since you were retired and on lock down you had some spare time.

I still have it. And the rifle. It has the dot reticle on it. I am considering selling the rifle because I dont shoot it much. I just love precision accuracy and even though I have never shot competition with it, it's fun to go out and see how good I can do with it.

Thanks for the reply golfer2b2000. I have the same scope and am looking for one with the crosshair reticle and no dot.
