Let’s talk suppressors...

If I understand it correctly... the benefits of a trust still make it where your wife/kids can be on the trust, and still legally use, travel, hunt, have in their possession the cans without you actually being in their presence..... Not sure if that is true. I have several on my trust, and that is how it was explained to me.
If they are 18 yrs of age, a minor cannot use w/o or be in possession w/o a trustee.

Using a trust, since 41F was passed back in July 2016, isn't quite as beneficial as it once was, and the Form 4's seem to be coming back a few months faster going individual versus Form 4 on a trust. I've heard of guys getting their approval back in 4-ish months when filing as an individual

It has leveled off where both are at around 6 mos now, my last 2 stamps which I went individual instead of the trust were a 6 month wait.

As far as an all around compact and high performance level suppressor, look at the Silencerco Omega. I have one and have shot it side by side with many of the above mentioned cans, and it's as good or better, while being shorter than most. I run mine both direct thread and with the ASR quick mount, and the accuracy is fantastic with both. I shoot PRS matches and hunt with mine, so it sees a lot of use. I'd say I'm a couple thousand rounds into it and it still performs as good now as when new.

I have the cousin of the Omega, a Silencerco Hybrid. I have the ASR mounts on 5 rifles and it works for me. The end caps cab be changed in thread size for direct thread, ASR mount, and the muzzle end can be changed from .224 to .308 to .456. Rated for full auto and depending on barrel length works on magnums. You can also add a piston and run it on a pistol. I guess all that really doesn't matter if you are going to buy multiple suppressors though.

TBAC as stated above already, great units & outstanding CS.
I have a 30P-1 and a ultra 7, my son a ultra 7, my pal a 30p-1. I will be getting another ultra 7 next month.
For me its not only a great suppressor & company, they are only 6 miles from my house.
Ours are all 30 cal direct thread. We run them on .223s to 30 cal rigs.
I have close to 9k rounds through the 30p-1 and 4k through the ultra7.

Another TBAC fan boy here - started with a 30BA, went with a 30CB9 when they were announced, followed by an Ultra 7 before the tax stamp even came back for the 30CB9. After getting the Ultra 7 & realizing how much I liked the new Ultra baffle stack, I sent the 30BA back for their re-core program. Even though I essentially bought the 30BA twice, I have not the least little regrets - the 30BA/Ultra 9 is a super quiet can, and also very accurate - as are the other two TBACs. I've never been a fan of direct mounts, so naturally went with TBAC's CB mount on all three of these 30 cal cans.

And even though I've been very pleased with the SWR Spectre II on my converted 22RF 40X repeaters, I just had to get a TBAC 22TD when I built another precision bolt 22RF repeater on a V-22 action. Though I can't hear any difference between these two cans, nor can I detect an accuracy advantage of one vs the other, I have no buyer remorse for getting the 22TD - it's also a great suppressor.

I've never had to change loads from what I already had worked up for non-suppressed use in any of my bolt rifles - I'm guessing the reply addressing over-gassed load with suppressor is taking about a gas gun. And rather than work up two sets of loads for use with & without a can, I'd just install an adjustable gas tap on an AR15 or AR10.

The best silencer is the one we each own... after doing all the research, paying the tax and deciding to go trust or individual, you got what you got cause there is no used market on silencers. Individual form 4 gets the can in your hand a few months quicker. Trust has become a pain with certifications on all named within although named persons can possess without you. I went YHM Titanium for weight and .30 for versatility. I use a QD Mount and make a note for POI for each gun. I like it a lot for coyote hunting with a SBR. Varmint rifles in the wide open with nothing that bounces the report is OK for no ear protection. Lots of factors from elevation, humidity and FPS dictate what it sounds like from one location to another.

Ken158 is right. You gotta run what you brung. After the purchase and wait ordeal im ready to move on. Bushmaster lower Hart 1/9 20" 223 built by a dear departed friend. Removed barrel to thread for YHM quick disconnect. Reassembled poi at 100 yards moved half inch up and right. Im happy with it. The suppressor is a 30 cal YHM Phantom and its heavy. Im in the process of load work up. Will shoot with and without the can just to see. So much info here to digest.
Bore pvc pipe, glue to cell phone case Viola! Scope cam!
The comfort level with a muzzle device is good. I am glad i bought it.

I wonder how many of those responding have only owned or used one brand and they claim that brand is best. Instead of saying it’s best, just say you have only tried brand Z, model X, and what you like or don’t like about it. That’s more useful and more honest. Given the OP’s question, I especially value the posts where someone mentions more than one brand and why they liked one better, for instance @MrFrankZ ‘s post about a TBAC and a Crux, or @flatlander ‘s post about an SWR vs. a TBAC. I have not tried any yet ... my 3-can suppressor family are all still in jail.

I would think most. Then you really run into the "I spent a bunch of cash and can not see anything wrong with my purchase" group.

I have used quite a few over the years. Each has its upps and downs. There is no one hard and fast rule that holds true across suppressors besides this one. They get hot when you use them.

I personlally think when a person is buying they need to take a hard and long look at what they want to do with it. The needs of hunting setup are drastically different than a person who wants to go out and shoot hundreds of rounds down range over a shorter time.

I have two screw on GEMTECS 30cal and have no complaints. They are used on my 223 / 300blkout, a 6br, and a 308.
It is nice to shoot with foam ear plugs instead of cluncky ear muffs.

Anyone buying a suppressor should consider his own needs, wants, and expectations. I suggest that includes decibel reduction, size, weight, caliber, versatility, intended use, price, material used for construction, manufacturer's service/warranty, and mounting system. There are probably more, but that's off the top of my head now. I did a good bit of research before I bought one. And I tried some that other people owned that helped me out too. Along the way I learned about things that simplified using mine as well as shortcomings. I am sure that will evolve with time and new products.

Thank you. I think it's important to recognize that once you're up in the non-budget equipment, you're really splitting hairs over performance and mainly buying features that are important to you and you alone. For instance, I have 5 cans from 4 manufacturers . They all excel in one category or another and have their use. I've got a can from a local manufacturer that was my goto for a few years. It's big, ugly and heavy. But it's also super repeatable, has a beautiful sound signature and lasted through 1x308, 2x260rem and 2x6creed barrels not counting temporary service on my hunting Grendel.
I have 2 liberty chaotic, one on a 300blk SBR and the other on my Grendel hunting gun. They're small and heavy with a lot of displacement . Pretty damn quiet. Repeatable enough for me to put a 123gr bullet in an eye or ear consistently at 250.
The TBAC originally rode a 6 creed but was replaced by the crux to change the overall balance of the gun and make it a bit more compact. The size is the only thing that separate them, performance wise .

I ordered the Hybrid for the portability, should have it by Christmas!!

dvor.com has a sale going on for ASR muzzle brakes and flash hiders for $68.00, which is a pretty good price. I bought the ASR mount that goes on the suppressor and I have brakes or flash hiders on every gun I shoot suppressed.
