Lets talk Revolvers

Can't go wrong with a S&W. If you find a Model 25 1955 Target in 45 ACP with the 6 1/2 barrel you will be amazed. The Model 19 Combat Magnum usually goes to the range with the 25. I shoot a 686 Plus in a modified bullseye match at the local level. And pretty much live with a Model 60 357 3 inch as my carry sidearm. The older ones have a lot smoother actions not to mention a better trigger. Check into S&W's custom shop pistols too.

THIS^^^
The Performace Center is where good revolvers go to be ruined.

Lol. I had a 460 S&W, 11 inch barrel, at one time, big ol frame revolver. It was a performance center. I thought that SOB felt GOOD. Trigger, tight, i loved it, but the recoil was nuts.

Everyones mentioned it depends what Im gonna do with it...

Well 6 inch barrel, leather holder, gun belt, wear it at the ranch, shoot snakes, hogs, deer sometimes maybe... no targets, ita be a ranch gun to wear.

We have several .357 revolvers, mostly S&W, BUT the one that was both best out of the box and still better than the S&Ws after their triggers were worked on was my first, a 6" blued Colt Python. That's the go to .357, especially for service as described above by Sniper338. Like my Smiths a big bunch, but love the Python.

A stainless k frame would fit the bill just fine. Maybe a model 66 since you want a 6”.

Im a s&w guy thru and thru but i got a gp100 match champion a few years ago and its a beautiful thing for the price. That being said here is my nickel 13-1. It has the most important features in a carry gun- no stupid lock to fail leaving me with a brick and fixed sights

Im looking at getting a 357 mag revolver. Single/double action, stainless...

Smith and wesson performance center?

Dan wesson?

Any other higher end/quality brands I should look at in this type range? Im not a fan of the ruger frames.

It gets no better than the model 66. I’ve had several and they were my go to carry, truck, hiking, everything gun.

I had a very early serial numbered colt king cobra 6" stainless for quit a few years. I foolishly sold it October of 2016.
Really miss it.

There's a reason you're seeing all these posts singing the praises of 686's. . . . . just find a good used 6" 686 and don't look back

As that's the use, a 3 screw Ruger Blackhawk 1962-72 time frame...

I own a 357 Python Nickel, And 44 Mag. In Dan Wesson and I'd say the 44 shoots circles around the Python. And the Dan Wesson has a 6" and 8" barrels and both are very accurate.

I know you said 6" revolver, but before everyone starts the flaming, this is just my opinion and my opinion only. If I worked on a ranch for the intended purpose you state, I would buy a used one of these to carry around and get abused.:D
