Let's Talk Presses

Sell the Hornady and buy Dillon machines. May as well have interchangeability working for you and the 550b is an excellent machine for production and precision.

Load many large rifle cases? Would also upgrade from the Lyman crusher to a real heavyweight, although not a concern if you don't FL size many magnums or work with mil-spec fired brass on occasion.

I use Redding Type S FL sizer dies and Forster Competition (mic head) seaters on my Dillon 550b machines. Have one for lg and another for small primer applications. Also use a Redding Ultra press for single stage case forming etc. Used to use a Lyman All-American turret press. Still drag it out occasionally. A good press, but redundant to my needs these days...

Forster co-ax might be the way to go and get you away from shellholders altogether.
Great opportunity to really consider all the ways you might simplify and also improve your loading tools... Best of luck!

The main cartridge I will be loading with this press is a 30-06 with cast bullets for porch practice. I ended up buying the Lee Classic Turret Press. This will be my first Lee press. I would have never even considered the Lee press but it seemed to get accolades from all the peopple who have one. And for the price if I don't like it I will just get rid of it. However I think it will work perfectly for what I want to load. Tom.
