Let's talk picatinny rings

I'm going to have to add Area419 rings, I think they are great. Let me know your thoughts if you've used them.

I was going to buy a pair of these (Match not hunting) but found out that they won't work on a Panda F-Class integral pic rail.

I put EGW one piece rails on all of my rifles that will take them.
They tend to be rather tall.
But that allows me to use low rings for up through a 50mm objective on most rifles.

When I'm trying to keep weight down I use Vortex Viper rings.

When I'm looking for something where weight isn't the issue, I use EGW's Keystone line of rings.
While being economical ($69) these things are seriously overbuilt!

I have a set on my Henry 45-70, and they haven't had any problems holding zero. They are overbuilt, but most folks won't give them a second look because they don't have a high price or the name of the "big" companies.

Just means that they are easy to get.
Their customer service is top notch also!
I had an issue with my card not going through, no complaints whatsoever with their quality!!

Are the Burris Signature rings Made in the USA?
Yes, supposedly in Greeley, CO. That said, I know the 34mm Burris XTR Signature rings, of which I have several sets (love those inserts to protect my pricey optics) are all made in the USA, and they even have small American Flags on them.

Have you purchased a set within the previous year or two? All of the XTR Signature Rings I purchased a few years ago from Midway USA were proudly stamped on the case, Made in China.

GMan: a call or email to Burris would answer your question for sure.

I too have a set of 34mm XTR Signature rings and they came "Made in USA" and the rings themselves have an American Flag on the sides. But all the 30mm XTR rings I've ever seen were "Made in China". So, I sent an email to Burris asking for a clarification and got this back this morning:

Anything will strip out if you over torque it
That's of course true but......
Some things you get a feel for
you should be able to feel things snug up once getting there and still have some alloweance of going a little bit further meaning it gets tighter
not start to snug up, then suddenly turn mushy,
----
Plastic, wood, aluminum ...all have a different feel and of course different torque and over torque limitations.
6061 is simply softer than 7075

I also have some Warne Rings
I think for the price they are great
Not as smooth or as nice as NightForce but
Half the price of Nightforce, which is a plus
One reason I might choose Nightforce over Warne is if I am taking the scope on and off often
Since the threads on their bolts are much smoother
If the scope will stay there, Warne is Great
---
I also like the nuts being 1/2", easy to get to, not some weird 7/16 or 13mm etc
I want them all the same so I can use the same tool as well as stay clear of the rest of the gun while torquing down

I have a couple Sig Sauer Alphas(30mm), really like them. No issues, have moved them on/off several rifles and switching scopes. Always watching for deals on a couple more sets.
