Also, you fluted the bolt back in 2013-2014. I repurposed the Tikka Action from a target gun I’ve had the past 5 years.

Yes its an HR. It went antelope hunting. Thats the normal dust we get running to different spots. I have had Bordens, and Defiances all in the same condition. Never had any issues.

3006 Browning BAR, this one is a 1980 I believe.. my father and I have double digits between us so the years run together. This one eats only those old school win silver tips that you can’t buy anymore. I have no idea how it groups, I just know it absolutely piles meat inside 400.

We have 16 loaded rounds left, I’ll have to work up a load for it with some loose Silvertips I found on gunbroker.

This is my latest and greatest take on what I want in a hunting rifle. I am trying to go as light as possible while still having a fully featured stock with all the cool guy adjustments too.

After borrowing one of the Carbon Fiber All-Composites stocks from my gunsmith I decided to order one for myself. Right now it wears a heavy Palma barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor® (ick I know?), but in the future it will have a new carbon fiber wrapped barrel to make it really really light.

Is that a NC buck ? It's a beauty regardless but never knew they grew'em that big down there. My BAR 270 is also an 80s model and stacks the venison as well. Maybe not out to 400 yards but I'll stretch her to 300. Nice buck.

Yes it is, central NC. That buck scored 121 and is my pb whitetail, my father has a couple 140s hanging from the same rifle, one from the exact same location 30 years ago.

This time of year Im spending most of my free time tuning up my rifles for elk season. I think we need a good hunting rifle build thread to help guys get ideas. Post up some pictures, specs, targets, loads, and kills!

You sold me this 30" Broughton 338/9.3 barrel last year. Finished the build this past summer. 338 Lapua improved. STAC338/Broughton/McMillan A5/Beast Brake/Sightron 10-50/60mm(MOA). Still needs the cerakote OD green but ready to finish load development with.

Sweet, very similar to mine other than its a single shot. 300s right about 2990 with Rl33 has been shooting well, +.015 and -.010 both shoot. Its given be some 2s and 3s but its a solid 4" gun at 1k. I dont think you can beat them for cold bore shots at that range. They just dont get effected by environmentals like the smaller bores.
