Lets see those hunting rifles

Here’s a LH 700 6.5 Creedmoor I put together for my left eye dominant daughter. Stainless action, takeoff CDL stock, Shilen barrel, I cut off the plastic forend tip and grip cap, replaced with rosewood, added a shadow line on the cheekpiece and refinished. Ceracoat black. Topped it with a weaver Grand Slam 2-8x36 and it is a nice light handling rifle for her. Oh, AND added a 1" decelerator...kicks like a kitten!

Mark X mauser action, Shaw 24" 308 Winchester barrel, Bold trigger, in a Boyd's pro-varmint stock. 'ATK 'infinity' 2-10 scope that came in a trade from somewhere(?). Turned the grandkids loose on it with a couple of cans of Krylon and a sponge.
Shoots pretty much any 150 to 165 grain ammo to 'minute of deer' out to farther than I'll be shooting at one, and has even held it's own in a few local matches.

This is my latest and greatest take on what I want in a hunting rifle. I am trying to go as light as possible while still having a fully featured stock with all the cool guy adjustments too.

After borrowing one of the Carbon Fiber All-Composites stocks from my gunsmith I decided to order one for myself. Right now it wears a heavy Palma barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor® (ick I know?), but in the future it will have a new carbon fiber wrapped barrel to make it really really light.

This was the ticket last year. It's kind of over-kill for Georgia, but it definitely did some work. I think between myself and 2 other people this rifle got over 10 deer last year. I loaned it out quite a bit too.

It's an old school SAKO TRG-S action, with a Lilja Mk13 barrel on it. This is one of those rifles that just tends to shoot itself.

What are your load details and the velocity are getting in that 16.5” tube??

No clue yet. Just got it back from cerakote today lol. I plan to go to the range next weekend and will let you know. I’m gonna use the 88gr Hammer Hunter bullets. Was afraid the velocity wouldn’t be where I want it with 105gr

The 87 gr berger hunters are good bullets to try if those dont work for you. Work good on animals too.

Here’s mine in the living room.

6x47 Lapua
Tikka T3
16.5” Proof Barrel
McMillan Game Hunter w/ Edge Fill
Thunderbeast Ultra 6.5
Swaro Z3

Nice little compact hunter

WV,

Very nice looking build. What is the weight without the sling if you happen to know. Might be building something very similar in the near future. Cool little rifle. :D:D
