Let's pile on some more love for Arrow Wood Finish

I thought I would post some pictures of one of the Ruger No 1 s that have been wearing out my right palm. But side from showing off, I figured I would ask a question as well... Is there a limit to what a stock will take in terms of this finish? It feels like it's got a pretty darn good shine on it. However, if you run a fingernail across the grain you can still feel it. To me, it's already quite beautiful; but I can't stop rubbing it, lol! I think I might have a problem. It seems to get better and better. The only thing I've done to this stock is strip the factory orange peel off with Citru-strip, and apply Arrow. I can't count coats, or hours; but honestly it seems if I rub this poor rifle any more, it might actually start emitting light...IMG_20230327_210151.jpgIMG_20230327_210113.jpgIMG_20230327_205924.jpgIMG_20230327_205829.jpg

That looks gorgeous! Nice job! Hand rubbing oil on a stock is a “zen” thing. Good for the soul. Filling all the pores take’s many coats of oil. Best to do it before the first coat, but you can wet sand with 6-800 grit to create a slurry to fill them.
