Lemi-shine

First I've heard of this one, anyone else do this?

If you do not have cream of tartar you can use Lemon-Lime Kool-Aid, its 97% citric acid.

The only problem using the Lemon-Lime Kool-Aid is it turns the cases and your fingers green.

If you accidentally put too much Lemi-Shine and your brass turns pinkish, it's easily corrected.

Fill a sink or bucket with the hottest tap water you have. Add just a pinch of Lemi-Shine (before filling water to mix it) then dump your brass in. It will instantly turn your brass back to it's natural coloring. I then rinse the brass with cold tap water and place them to dry.

Don't ask how I know this works

In #16, I mentioned citric acid that I get from Amazon, five pounds at a time, I don't need any green citric acid. I was, however, curious about the cream of tartar method, having never heard of this before.

I did some checking around and found that there are a number of people using it, and swear by their results.

I've used a tablespoon of cream of tartar, squirt of Lemi-Shine, and a squirt of Dawn detergent in my sonic cleaner and my Frankford rotary tumbler with pins since the get go.

IIRC that is the original recipe used by the person that originated wet pin tumbling.

About two hours to clean 500 223's in pins.

That recipe works also works well in a sonic cleaner on suppressor cones and body to remove stubborn carbon. Stainless cones come out like new.
