Left/right hold 'wiggle' that ends up on target

I can look through a spotting scope and see a wiggle! It's my stupid body and my lack of control of the darn thing. Wore out I guess. It's very frustrating.

As we age, we need to learn how to adjust.
I'm 70 and wear progressive lenses, I have a cataract that is almost big enough to have fixed, when looking through the spotter it sometimes has a whiteout at 7 a clock and I shoot hunter class 6x scope.
It becomes more of a I think I'm there squeeze the trigger. This is shooting IBS score 100-200.

If I set up at home carefully at my dining room table I am rock solid and comfortable. I'm doing something wrong at the range. Either I'm not properly aligned or I'm hunching over the bag/butt. I do notice that the crappy chairs they have feel too low versus the bench and I'm not as comfortable. I will do more practice at home and take much more time setting up at the range.

BTW my rear bag is an Edgewood MiniGator. Do people typically have the longer sloped portion forward or rearward? I noticed in Bart's video he has it to the rear. (His points at the 6 minute mark are likely spot on.)
Get a drummers throne. Stool height is important. Make sure the height range is what you need. It is likely that your dining table and shooting bench are different heights, so you need to take that into consideration.

I also found a way to save ammo. I double check my NPOA. If I think I have it, I'll close my eyes, breath once, and see if the crosshairs moved from POI. If they haven't, I take the shot right then. If the crosshair did move, or wobbling, then I know I don't have NPOA and re-sequence. I've tried getting lucky numerous times, only to dismay myself. "Don't pull the trigger if it don't feel right!"

One thing I noticed today dry firing. If I leave my trigger hand completely off the rifle except for the pad of my forefinger on the trigger, when the trigger breaks my cross hairs flick about 1/8th of an inch left at 20 yards. (I just placed a black dot on my fence.) Not sure how relevant this is given a lot more happens when an actual shot is fired...

(I'm using a 50x Kahles scope. I can see my pulse slightly affecting the POA. I can stop breathing but turning my pulse on/off might be challenging...)

How heavy is your trigger pull?

Been doing a good deal of dry firing this week and made a bunch of changes:

  1. dropped cheek riser a lot. I still like contact but now a lot less.
  2. better focus on front/rear bag alignment
  3. better focus on tension in front bag (tightening up the sides)
  4. reversed rear bag so sloped portion is forward leaving more clearance at rear
  5. ensure butt of rifle projects clear of rear bag while still riding on flat of rear bag
  6. started using a small soft bag to sit under my right elbow (I'm a righty) two square of butt in shoulder better
  7. ordered drummer throne
  8. feel I need to have bottom 3 fingers of trigger hand on left side of stock to counteract the slight slap of the firing pin
  9. will dry fire at range before shooting to check setup etc
Hopefully these help!
