Left Eject Actions ???

So, what is the benefit of a right hand bolt, left side load/eject?

I can see a full left hand gun in the prone position would be advantageous to a right handed shooter. Grip hand stays on grip. Stock stays in shoulder, and support hand manipulates the bolt and single feed loading.

I can't see how a right hand bolt manipulated, left side ejection port is of benefit since one is breaking grip to manipulate the bolt, so why not just keep the ejection on the right as well and use that same right hand to single feed? Now both hands are moving around doing tasks...

What am I not considering by my ignorance?

Just shoot one and you will see. Tommy Mc.

All of the above! I got my first left port Kodiak to try one. I love it on the bench. No more reaching over the gun to catch your brass. With the left port you can catch and feed with your left hand while your right operates the bolt. Sooo much easier!
I have a dual port, also, that I got to try. It’s OK, but sometimes when I throw a new shell in it plops out the other side. Stupid me, I guess!
PS: Left port does NOT work for a right hander hunting gun! Don’t ask how I found that out!

Didn't know if I would like it, till I tried it. One range session and I would never go back. Mine is a Kodiak!
For bench shooting, IMHO, couldn't be any better.
Got the bug to try shooting a lefty action right handed. (I'am right handed) Picked up a Savage Model 12 lefty repeater action. Found an ambi stock and went shooting. LOVE IT!!
Ordered up a right hand thumb hole BR style stock. Plugged the right bolt handle cut and recut it on the left side.
Tried getting a left hand inlet in a right hand BR style stock. Still too funny to think about. Got one. Ever see a mirror image inlet of a left hand action, bolt release on the left side?? I mentioned it and somebody wanted it REAL BAD so I sold it. ;) Funny but with enough squawking, I got a proper replacement in about a week so, it CAN be done sooner than normal wait times.
Right hand thumbhole BR style stock, fitted with a Whidden V Block, single shot adaptor from SSS. Right hand stays in the thumbhole and your free left hand feeds ammo and works the bolt.
Only problem? Have a real hard time shooting my right hand rigs. Taking your right hand off the stock to work the bolt just isn't natural anymore.

As others have stated, you can see what's in the port without leaving position (whether at a bench or prone). It's all I've owned but I've shot RBRP guns effectively as well. If ever there was an argument for RBRP in my experience for F Class at least, it's that you can have your ammo on the far side of your gun our of your way. With a RPLP your ammo is usually marginally in your way on the left or you have to feed it under your gun. I know for BR guys it's less of an issue. With F Class you've typically got your ammo plus a spotting scope and stand all fighting for attention on the left side of your gun. I'm good with it but not everyone is.

On the bench, you’ll love it! If you get good with it, you can pull the bolt, catch the brass, put it in the box, pull a round and feed it in a simple ballet of movement.
It’s fun when you get it down! Takes about 2 seconds on the slow side.
Try having a case in your left hand already. Let the case fall onto the bench as you block it with your hand as you feed the new case in. If its left port no eject pull the bolt back, push the new case in front of the empty and grab the empty with your forefinger on the way out as you close the bolt. All one motion. Never worry about the empties, they can stay in a pile. You can put them in the box after your group

if memory serves me, that is exactly how Pat Byrne did it.

Being left handed I shot a right hand bolt for years. Prone and off the bench it really was easy. didnt think a right hand bolt was a problem.

Ones face is on the left and you can see the port without leaning over stock. Great for prairie doggin’.
Wish all my prairie dog rifles were RBLP...
Totally agree. All of my Ground Squirrel and PD rifles are RBLP. The only way to go on a portable pivot bench in the field. Loading block on the left and ones left eye is looking right at the loading and ejection port on the left side. Easy Peasy!!
