Lee Collet for 6x47 L

I am pretty sure the 6PPC will work on the 6BR. Many of the Collet Dies will interchange. I just wondered if anybody had used a 6PPC with spacers on a 6X47L. I am aware of their custom program, but with the cost of components, I am trying save a little. No, Lee never made a 6BR except in their custom shop.

The 6 PPC dose work on the 6 BR I use one that way.
Maybe you could use the the PPC on the 6x47 with the rcbs extended shell holder make a spacer (tape washers together) for it

Howdy !

The pure sex set-up would be to run w/ a LEE 6.5 Creedmoor Collet NS die.

You'd use a 6.5mm mandrel reduced in diameter to the 6mm sizing diameter you seek.
The upper portion of the 6.5mm mandrel would retain it's factory provided diameter, so that the
mandrel would self-quide in the stock 6.5mm " collet sleeve "; as desired.

Cases only contact the " collet " insides @ their shoulders, anywayz.
Similar case lengths, major case diameters, and shoulder angles make this a workable proposition.

Additional 6.5mm mandrels can be $$$, to permit try-out of varying mandrel diameters; to fine tune the squeeze.

You'd order LEE " Collet Neck Size Die Only " SKU 8011012 @ $ 27.00.
Extra mandrels can be reviewed @ the die " Parts " location on Lee's website.
The outer die body will be common to a variety of mid-sized cases.

Howdy, again !

Forgot to mention:
IF the 6.5 Creedmoor " collet " could not be squeezed enough to properly neck size your 6mm cases,
the fall back position would be to use a .22-250 " collet ".

I say this because LEE cuts these collets w/ generous openings for the case' necks.... much more diam than is required to safely allow cases to enter the collet. A .22-250 collet would be pretty close on desired case accomodation oal, while this collet for a case w/ a 28* shoulder angle would be used
in this instance for case w/ a 30" shoulder angle. The .22-250 collet's neck acceptance diameter would be great enough to let a 6mm case neck enter.

I compete with both 6BRX and 284 WIN. I use Lee custom collet neck dies for both.
The cost of these dies is VERY low and I see no reason to mix and match various parts to neck size a new case, just spend the small amount LEE charges for the custom sizing die and seating die made just for your bullet! This set is way less expensive than a standard custom bushing die! And, you can buy custom mandrels for your LEE collet die for custom sizing (like changing bushings) for $10 ea.

FWIW

around 6 years ago I sent Lee Precision a few fired 6x47 cases and for approx. $50 (at the time) they provided a custom lee collet and seater die with a number of mandrels made to requested diameters.
dave shono was the contact person for custom dies.
cheers
