Lee Collet die versatility

I had ask if anybody had used a 6PPC collet die on a 6X47? Well I got no response so I bought one and it works on the 6x47 and even 243 with a pile of washers. When figuring out how many spacers, I am very careful not to let the shoulder bump and change dimensions. Just takes a lot of measuring and trial and error......... but I saved $70! I do the same thing with a 222 collet die on a 223 case. The entire neck is not resized, but enough to get a uniform neck tension. I seat 223 bullets with a Forster Benchrest seater in 222 using the washers for spacers.

yep, a single washer honed down to the right thickness worked for me to use the 6PPC collet die with my 6BR. works perfect

You got no response ?????????? ........... Scroll down to "similar threads" and click on your Mar. 19th Post.

Gotcha, I read the reply, but you suggested biting the bullet and getting a $70 die. I was trying to save money and reduce my inventory. But I sure appreciated your response.

Would be a different story if I was a serious BR shooter, I am just trying to put them in one hole the cheapest way....... I even use Savage actions.

You know, "ruining a 10 dollar knife skinning a 5 cent fart!" OR "I've shot myself in the foot so many times that it doesn't hurt anymore."
