Lee APP push rod modification for 20 cal?

I was considering trying a Lee APP Deluxe to automate and bulk prime off press before feeding a loading process.

Then I realized their push rod (AC1175) is a 0.216" and would need to be closer to 0.20" to pass through 20 cal case necks.

Has anyone successfully modified one of these APP primer push rods to work in 17 or 20 cal? Or will I be the Guinea pig?

I have turned down a rcbs universal one and used it on the Lee app.
I also used a Redding die one meant for 20 caliber in it

Fern... Do you mean the decapper or the the priming pushrod?

I'm talking about the priming pushrod, not a decapping pin.

There is a priming ram pushrod that has to pass through the case mouth and it pushes down on the web of the case to seat the primer, which is indexed off the base instead of the rim. The challenge is their pushrod is too big for a 20 cal.

I ordered several to try to turn down from 0.216" to about 0.20", and some extra to play with some ideas for depth adjustment.

I was thinking about the Lee APP myself, to prime a couple thousand 20 Vartarg, but if they won't fit a 20 cal neck, that puts a kink in that possibility. Let us know what you figure out!
