Leaving Boretech C4 carbon remover in the barrel overnight.

I have been good with keeping copper out of my barrels and don't have any real problems with copper in any of them. I have noticed with my borescope that I have been neglecting carbon in the first few inches of the bore. I don't mind using Iosso occasionally to remove the hard carbon, but didn't want to use it all the time as my barrels take a long time to settle in after an Iosso clean.
I have slip 2000 and Boretech C4 carbon remover at home and will be trying these first for a general duty carbon remover. I noticed the instructions on the Boretech C4 bottle say to leave it in the bore before storing it after shooting. I have been told not to leave Boretech eliminator in the bore for long, but how about with the C4 carbon remover?
I store my barrels with Butches in the bore, but was thinking of storing them with Boretech C4 instead, does anyone see any problems with this?

I use the Boretech C4 and it works great. Typically you don't have to leave it in that long to get the carbon out, but I have left it in overnight with no ill effects. I find that it will sort of dry out though. I store my stuff with a little kroil in the barrel. I've left the Eliminator in there overnight too and haven't had any issues either. My barrels have been checked with a buddy's hawkeye borescope. I really like that these are both non-hazardous and they don't have a real strong smell. I use the carbon remover as a main cleaner until the patches come out mostly white, then I follow with the eliminator, letting it soak and patching out until they stop coming out dark blue. I have the copper remover too, but the other two work so well that I don't end up using it a lot.

I use the Bore Tech C4 Carbon Remover and have no problems with leaving it in the barrel overnight or even longer. I normally do just my regular cleaning but every so often I install a Sinclair Chamber Plug which has a O ring into the chamber, set the rifle upright and pour the C4 into the barrel. I usually just put in enough to cover the first 3 inches of the barrel although I have filled the entire barrel before.

Before I started this process I called Bore Tech and asked the technician about leaving the C4 in the barrel for extended periods of time and he told me it was not a problem with the C4 or the Eliminator. He said their products do not have any Ammonia in them which was the reason why some cleaners cannot be left in the barrel for a extended period of time without possible damage.. He said they have done extensive testing on this issue with some barrels left soaking in a tank of C4 or Eliminator for as long as a few years with no problems.

I use the C4 instead of the Eliminator because if you go to their website they have a chart that shows the C4 is more effective than the Eliminator in removing carbon. The Cu+2 Copper Remover by itself or in the Eliminator has the same effect. I use the 2 step cleaning process. The technician did say that if you clean your barrel often and do not have a bad carbon problem that the Eliminator is probably all you need.

I also started to use the Bore Tech Chameleon Gel instead of Iosso which I used before because it is less abrasive but seems to do just as good a job and turns colors to let you know how good a job of cleaning it is doing. That is where it gets it name Chameleon from.

+1 fine to leave C4 in the barrel overnight, or longer, with no ill effects. I have not left it for weeks though. I do 1-2 days all of the time, 2500+ rounds down the barrel.
