Learning about long range rifle competition

I want to learn all about long range rifle competition. I have applied to gunsmith school and my passion is high precision rifles. I feel this is a growing market for competent gunsmiths and I want to be of service to other enthusiasts.

Please let me know about events and groups in the Texas and Oklahoma area. I will start in the local area and expand my search with time. I want to meet and talk with people who share this passion.

I am not from your area but there are many active Long Range and Precision competitors out that way. Try going through the NRA for a list of affiliated clubs that hold matches in both states as well as more surrounding states.

You are going to have a great career if you continue to focus on customer needs like this - a simple thing a lot of people miss. Start by looking into PRS, high power, F class, long range benchrest, and to a lesser extent rifle silhouette matches. Shoot some of them (even with inappropriate gear) to get a feel for it and of course, talk to everyone. Sometimes people want what they don't need and need what they don't want. You need to provide the things the need and want.
