I bought a RCBS Chargemaster 1500 about 3 weeks ago. I have been experimenting with it and learning how ignorant I have been. First, I will say that my RCBS 505 made by Ohas has served me well. Maybe not as good as I thought. But It measures about 1 grain lighter than my RCBS Chargemaster 1500. I pulled 100 .308Winchester loads I loaded last summer for a 1000 yard match. They were all hand measured on the 505. at 46.grains of VV 550. All were hand trickled to the .00 visually. I found after pulling them and measuring them that the load varried from 46.9 to 47.1.
I pulled another 100 loads measured with the Quick Measure and not weighted and found an extreme variation 46.8 to 47.3 with most between 46.9 and 47.0.
It is my gut feeling that with a warmed up, calibrated electronic scale I am getting a more consistant load. And possibly more accurate load. I am going to reload the 200 rounds of .308 weighing them on the electronic scale and see if I can tell a difference in my verticle at 1000 yards.
My next experiment will be to compare the RCBS Charge Master 1500 to an Denver Insturments MXX123.
