Learn me....7br brass down to 6mm

Long time listener, first time caller.

I just got my rifle rebarreled to 6BRX. I stumbled in to 300 new pieces of Norma 7BR brass at no charge. What do I need to do to size the brass down so that it will fit into my chamber in order to fire form it?

Will 7BR brass even work?

Jon

I would size it down in two steps and only far enough to chamber with a little resistance using the 7mm neck to form a 'false' shoulder. the false shoulder will hold the brass back against the bolt through the forming prosess. good luck. ps I'd do a few and try fireforming before you doing all the casses.

Talk to your gunsmith. He will know the type of chamber he cut. He can tell you if you'll have any problems in using a straight neck-down or whether you'll need to turn necks or use different brass.

if he says all should go well, then do what treeman said.
