Does anyone know the formula for lead removal that uses hydrogen peroxide and another ingredient? I forgot. It is amazing what happens to the mind when you age. nilebartram

Scrap that thought, for 11 bucks buy some wipe out nolead, it is the best stuff, by far,I have ever seen.
A while back I ran a box of 44 special cowboy loads through my model 29. Nice soft lead and when I was done the throat was leaded so bad you could not see rifling just past it, never saw leading so bad
Pluged it, filled the bore with this stuff and stood it up. Lead gets converted to white powdery stuff. Left it one day, emptied it out repeated for a second day.....done. Bore looked like the day it left the factory, zero scrubbing. Oiled it, put it away
Also the stuff is non toxic, non caustic, doesn’t smell.....hard to beat.

IIRC, the stuff that many used to use to remove .22RF fouling from suppressors used peroxide & vinegar. I tried it once on the baffles out of my Spectre II, and it did have an effect, but the resulting solution is really, really toxic, not anything you'd want to dump down the drain. There are far better solutions to deal with suppressor fouling. I don't know how corrosive this stuff would be, but don't think you could pay me enough to use it in one of my custom .22RF bbls...and there are specific warnings not to use it on suppressors with aluminum alloy baffles.
why go all Dr Frank Einstein when there are lot off finished products to remove lead.

Yeah, I'm the kind of guy who might remove my own appendix if I could find the right video on Youtube.
I like finding effective "home-spun" solutions to problems if possible. Oh yeah, -- add safe in to the mix also I guess.
