LC Long Range Match 308 Brass - What to do with it?

My $.02 is to sell what you don't need as the M1A shooters would love it ,I use it in mine as that gun needs the tougher brass. Of the cal's. suggested I have two---the 260 and 7-08. You checked out the 260 and can see why!!! Now check out the 7-08 for longer range ballistics--trajectory ,wind drift & energy. Both are easy on the shoulder also. Check them out .

I second and even third that ;)

Thanks guys,

I will start looking at the 7's. I know absolutely nothing about them and have never even considered or shot them before.

What about the 6.5 Creedmore? My initial reading has me interested. Does anyone have any personal experience with this round?

Seems to me that this fine brass should not be monkeyed with, unless you have some really high volume shooting to do. Best bet is to load it back to the original M118 spec and fire it in an M1A. That would mean either buying one or giving/selling it to someone who would put it to such good use. Lots of HP shooters would gladly dumpster dive for a five gallon can of LC Match.

To paraphrase a funny line from a popular book on the M1A/M14, "only across-the-course shooters would dumpster dive for brass to feed their $2,000 match grade weapons..."

what a great dilema to face!

I have always heard that the LC brass is thicker then most. That was what got me thinking about the conversion. Plus I always wanted to learn how to do it. "if" I can't get my test batch of converted 308 brass to shoot worth a damn then I will abandon the idea and just go with Lapua or Remington brass (I read an article that the 260 rem brass was more concentric then the lapua brass per lot). At that point this LC brass will find a good home to the people on this board that will appreciate it.

anyone interested in trading 500-1000 pieces of LC 308 brass? I am not interested in selling any of it but I might be interested in trading some of it.
