LC Brass

Okay guys, I bought some Lake City brass in .308.
I have cleaned, sized, trimmed, and used a Sinclair primer pocket uniformer. I went to start loading and the primers will not go in the pocket. Way too tight! Anyboby had any experience with this brass.
I am hoping you don't come back and tell me I have wasted my time and money.
???????????

Hammerhead: If you are using the Forster case trimmer, they make a 45 degree cutter that does an excellent job of cutting the sharp edge of the crimp from the primer pocket. The mouth of the case fits over a mushroom shaped fitting that is held in place by the collet. I do all my 223 with this method and for me, it works fine. Guess you're aware that a lot of the LC 308 has been fired in machine guns, with their usual very large, sloppy chambers? Same holds true for the 223, and some of it requires the use of a small base sizing die to reduce it back to SAAMI dimensions, so it can be chambered.

Thanks guys.
I am glad to hear that I have not wasted time or money on this brass.
308 brass is hard to come by up here in the Northwest. I came across this brass and jumped on it.
No problem on getting rid of the crimp. I hope this brass will hold me over for a while.

tim, where in the pnw do you live?

one other thing about the brass, if it is 'match' brass, it won't have a 'crimp'. further, it was most likely shot out of a machine gun - m60/tank/etc.

did you head space before resizing? if it was a whole bunch 5-10 thou over, the brass may wear out faster than if it was 3-5.

it should work fine for x-course. i personally would not use for longrange
