LC 5.56 brass trouble

I have a bag (250 count) of LC 5.56 brass that I just recently decided to mess with. I’m not sure how long ago that I bought this brass or where I bought it. It appears to be brand new or just really clean. I was going to fire form some of it in my little Cooper 223ai but when I seated the primers… they basically fell in. I tried CCI 400 & 450s and they just drop in.
I probably won’t try these in that Cooper but I’m thinking of using them in my AR and just leaving the brass on the ground. This is the first time in about 40 years of loading that I’ve seen this, I’ve thrown away brass with tighter pockets than this.
Any thoughts? Can I damage the bolt face of the AR doing this?
Has anyone else experienced this with the LC brass?
Thanks in advance for any experienced replies

I'm typically one to shoot every bit of life out of a piece of brass but I would hesitate on using those. My guess is someone fired them with a hot load, polished them up, and sold them.

The big problem with shooting those in an AR is upon extraction, the primer could fall out and down into the trigger group, jamming things up.

LC brass is cheap and plentiful. My recommendation is to scrap and buy new.

When I ran heading at lake city there was a part called a bunter that made the primer pocket. We had to put them in a lapping head and work some of them down, They were too big made the primer pocket loose. There was enough waterproffing in the pocket to make it work. They would rather have them a little loose than too tight. That was in the dark ages I dont know how they make them now. Doug
