Lawton 7500 Action, serial number 1558

I acquired a rifle with the Lawton 7500 Action, serial number 1558 on it.

Can anyone give me any info on this action. Build Date, parts availability, etc., mainly trying to find the date of manufacture!

I am thinking about selling it, or building another 338 Edge with this action.

I welcome any comments.

Happy New Year,
Dennis

Beautiful Rifle, it only has a few rounds down the tube.

I am also curious what the value of the rifle is. With Sliders, Jewell, Krieger straight 1.25 30" long,

Thanks Again,
Dennis

After Barney passed it seems Lawton had to close its doors. I don't know of any source for them actions or parts to fit them.
The good news is that they rarely break parts and have a few things in common with the R 700.
No way of knowing what it might be worth. You give us no info on what it was set up for and what caliber it is currently.

I should have stated I am interested in knowing what the action is worth!

Details: 300WSM, Lawton 7500 w/jewel 3oz trigger, Krieger 9 twist, 1.25" to the muzzle-30' length, and I don't know about the stock or sliders on the stock. All the other norms like bedding, truing etc., have been done. Somebody really built a "trick" out rifle.

It's definetly built for "heavy rifle" long range shooting.

I haven't found a "scratch" on this rifle. It looks like it's never been used or shot! All the action parts are spotless!

I have seen stocks like this one on several other rifles.

Thanks, Dennis

I just sold one to a friend for $2500.00.
100% turn key 7 mm SAUM Imp, with a NF 12x42 NXS...
The action alone is worth about $900.00-$1000.00..

The Stock looks like a Shehane tracker - I recognize the Laminate pattern - Its "Desert Camo". - How wide is the actual forend not counting the rails that are attached ? - It looks like either a MBR Tracker or a Big Dawg Tracker.

It's 5" wide.

I appreciate the comments,
Dennis

My Lawton 7500 dual port action is my favorite. I agree value should be around $900 to $1000 for the action.
It appears that the firing pin shroud isn't original. that looks like a Remington firing pin shroud.
At one time PTG had replacement parts for Lawton actions. Not sure if that is still the case but that is where I would try first if I needed any replacement parts.
Is that a dual port, single shot or mag fed action?

Single Shot, Right Port, Right Eject (of course!).

I did find this picture, my 284 Stock is "below" the Lawton 300wsm. The 284 Stock is a SSS build.

They look very similiar!

Maybe this will help until I can take further pictures.

Pretty sure PTG made the bolt. Back when PTG was PTG
Had one on a prone rifle. It was a good action shot well
Barney made some of he bolts and he had PTG make some for him. If you can still see mill marks on the bolt nose Barney made the bolt.
