Lathe options

I have a Le Blond 15 X 50 regal and really like it , I also have a 13.5 " South Bend .The SB lathe only has a 1 3/8 spindle hole thats not big enough to do muzzle brake thru head stock. I have been around a couple small enco lathes and felt a little crude. I looked around a bit before I found it , I would personally try to find Clausing or LeBlond .
How long is the spindle on your Leblond?

11" Rockwell and M300 Harrison are a couple of other near perfect choices for gunsmithing lathes. Both have short head-stocks. The only limit on the Rockwell is the 1 3/8" spindle.

Butch, my Rockwell is a great little machine. I tore it down and went completely through it not long after I bought it from Myers. If I stumble across I nice M300 I'm sure I'll buy it. Haven't looked very hard since the Rockwell works just fine. I really liked Myers early model green M300 and often wondered who ended up with it.

If anyone wants to know , I called on a 13" LeBlond Regal Servo Shift and it was 25 1/4" through the headstock :(.
