Laser welding handles

here we go. a laser welded handle. just didnt like much the left side, but, anyway... i think it will be pretty neat after some sand blasting. what do you think?

Looking at the profile if you correct the torch angle from that for the left side to produce that of the right you are definitely on the right track. What does the other side look like?

maybe the image doesnt show well, but its looking pretty solid to me. there is no weld on the front of the handle only.
i bet anyone here thats stronger than silver solder and also these bolts will only extract 9mm rounds.
right after the welder has finished the job, he handled it to me and the bolt lugs were less than warm which is another plus. on a tig, you have to wait to touch. and our bolts are as short as the 40x rimfires.
time will tell and i am pretty confident it will work.

Do a repair on the left, all be good. Dont sandblast, all those little ripples are character and craftsmanship. Thats a tiny sob job in anyones book. Kudos to your workmanship and honesty to post here.

You probably couldn't break it off with a hammer even with the weld as it is!

I certainly agree the weld looks so good on the right side, when you or your welder has a few under his belt this method will be A-OK

With my welding experience less than zero....I'm thinking a fixture that will rotate should smooth it out a bit.
