Laser welding handles

Hi guys. First of all, I promise you I've tried the search button, but the answer I need didnt come up.
Have any of you guys laser welded handles on to the bolt? If so, what was your results? Is it strong enough to withstand all the work it goes thru?
Looking for any input.
Regards
MFG

A gunsmith I know here in Australia has with good results.
He has also used it to fill in the firing pin hole on custom actions that customers want reduced to 0.062”

I've never looked into welding bolt handles but have 30 years experience as a welder and own my own shop. I Laser and Tig weld S/S and Titanium parts. You'd need to design the weld joint so that your not relying only on the weld for strength. Basically a male - female press fit. You may need to add what I call a "weld ring " machined into one of the parts to be consumed to avoid undercut. What materials are you using? PM me your phone number if you'd like to discuss this.

Thank you guys for the help. I will never know if I dont try it. I will have one laser welded and come back to you guys if you are interested.
The biggest problem I will have is the handle coming off, isnt it? ;) and NZ$ 60 out of pocket.

Other than the funds, you may also have it attached in the wrong position.

Given the size of the laser welder, I think it is going to take, I think that is too cheap. Good luck! We all learn new things everyday. Let us know how it works.

I'm getting to send another to Dan Armstrong "Dans40X" accutig.com.
I feel that Dan has all the answers in this area.
Rtheurer, I know instantly if one is not timed, but that is work that I will leave to the expert.
