Laser flag alignment

I shoot short range score and I'm usually traveling to matches solo and usually set my flags up by myself as well. Does anyone have pictures or advise on setting up a laser to help me align my flags? I saw two different setups at a match this weekend. One appeared to be a laser mounted on a board along with a low power scope. The other appeared to be a diy contained unit with leveling legs that sat on the benchtop.

They work. Get a green laser and not red.

I use a green bore alignment laser, set gun up without bolt, use laser to align chrono & flags. Have an old red laser to but it doesn't work as well.

I had pretty much decided on a green laser based on some other threads I've seen about this. I know that a standard 5mw pen laser won't cut it in the daylight so i'm thinking about something a bit more powerful.

Wicked Lasers makes some that will work in broad daylight to incredible distances. The normal ocular hazard distances range over 150 meters so watch your eyes and everyone else's too.

When I was night hunting coyotes etc. I used an old scope with a small flash light slipped over the eyepiece. Line it up on the critter and go.
Once out in the field I could look back and actually see the shadow of the cross hairs.
Never lost one after I used this setup and it saved a ton of time.
Should work for flag setting as well.

The two individuals you saw using the units will be your best bet on advice. Go search them out.

Just a FYI:

You may have some liability if using the more powerful green laser for set up. I have included a reference for more info. Just so you are fully informed. Not trying to pee in anyones Cherrios-thought about this myself and might still take the plunge with a 5 mW green.
