Large bore supressor for accuracy

im looking for a 338 supressor but for accuracy. My main concer is no intermediate break/thread adapter and largest tennon I can find in titanium of course. My smith wants the supressor in hand to match the threads also.
I'd love something like 7/8 thread but finding lots of 5/8 stuff. Was looking at the acc titan ti for a bit

If you do a form 1 ,you can build it any way you want.
You are correct most tests lean toward direct thread on to be the most accurate. Your smith is correct in wanting the can to properly match the threads,or if you do the form 1 you can match the can to your barrel.

A friend of mine makes suppressors and is licensed. He makes them in many different thread sizes depending on the size of the barrel. He wants the most support for the suppressor. He makes the suppressor for that particular barrel and threads the barrel also. His suppressors are sort of a reflex style and extend 1.5" back over the barrel with a Teflon internal ring fitted to help support the suppressor. His are welded design so they can't be taken apart easily. They are a little different but work pretty well. Mine is a 308 cal. I built on a form 1 using his parts. All are CNC machined however you want it. My 308 is on a 6.5 Creedmoor and works good. It suppresses noise and recoil well. The trade off with a larger suppressor than your caliber is that there is somewhat less noise suppression but less point of impact change. My suppressor only changed my POI an inch but it is on a Rem. varmint contour barrel. Lighter, slimmer barrels will naturally have more POI shift because of the weight.

There are lots of options on suppressors. Lots of competition so you have lots of choices.

Some makers list different sizes as an option although most have standardized on the 5/8-24.

If your smith is going to thread the barrel then it would be wise to get the suppressor in hand so he can get a good thread fit. I personally would not use an intermediate thread adapter as it would just add weight and push the suppressor farther out. Your mileage may vary.

Just buy a 338 suppressor or build. Despite what is said it does a better job with noise reduction than a 30 cal can. I have both and the 338 is a lot quieter than the 30 cal can on my 243 AI, 6.5saum, or 308. Three other friends also shoot their 338 can's over there 30 cal cans for the same reason. If you have access I'd try both for your own experience. I use a 5/8x24 for the smaller calibers and a 3/4x20 for my 338 AI (barrel is 1.450 - so more meat is better) Buddies that use their 338 can have 5/8x24 and have no issues with strength or stability. TBAC for accuracy, Whatever thread you want. I run a 338 on my 7mm. 30 cal will work but for
large volume cases you will better served by the large can. That being said, I think a Brake offers more
recoil reduction (able to stay on target)

Get the Thunderbeast 338 Ultra and call it good.

I have had three 338 cans and the Thunderbeast was consistently the most accurate and the quietest.

I often shoot my 338 out past 2,000 yards at the NRA Whittington Center at a long range match we cooked up a few years back.

About half of us are using cans, most being Thunderbeast.
