Large barrel vise bushings - HELP

p-man

Gold $$ Contributor
I inherited a massive - what may be a custom - barrel vise. The bushings or sleeves have an outside diameter of slightly less than 2 inches - does anyone know if bushings were ever or are commercially available today?

I make my own bushings from two pieces of Oak or Hickory cut with grain to length and 1/2 height. Clamp them together use an appropriate sized forstner drill bit to drill out to fit tight on diameter of Barrel. Then use resin powder on half's to help hold and prevent scratching when clamping. Pretty easy and cheap.
