Lapua's factory 6mmBR

Your first post indicates you do not want to reload but are willing to have a custom rifle built.

1) I would suggest you choose the factory cartridge and bullet that will best meet your needs for how you are hunting.
2) Buy an ample supply of the factory loaded cartridges that you have chosen from the same lot number.
3) Have a custom rifle built or a factory rifle re-barreled and chambered to fit your factory cartridges by Gre-Tan. Greg will use your factory cartridges to chamber the barrel making the head space and neck dimension to fit as close as is safe. This will in essence get you as close to custom reloaded brass to chamber fit as possible without reloading.

For coyotes out to 300 it seems like a decent AR-15 would be perfect. I bought an off the shelf base model a few years ago and with a cheap 4x scope and wally world plinking ammo it would be murder on song dogs at that range. Took it to wy last year and cleaned up on pds.

Lots of match grade ammo available in 223 and some really nice varminter style ARs.

Put a quality optic on it and you have a quick, light, versatile shooter that can easily perform the task you describe.

I figure it you do go to a 6br, you prob won't have too much of a problem selling the once fired cases....

Hornady makes a 55gr SP load that comes in 50 rd boxes for $25 to 30 a box. It is some of the best shooting factory .223 I've seen out of a 12 twist barrel.

Hi master_photog, if your interest lies in Coyote hunting almost exclusively do a search at this website for a guy called 5spd. He is probably the premier coyote hunter on this website. He can fill you in on every aspect of coyote hunting.

As for the cartridge you want (6mm), you should listen closely to what most have already told you on this forum. The various .22's seem to be the right ticket for those individuals that do best in coyote hunting. That's not saying a 6mm type cartridge wouldn't be just as good, but the 6mm Br because of it's length would really only be good as a single shot. You might not be to happy with a single shot coyote rifle, or for any hunting type rifle for that matter.

An idea that maybe you should consider concerning ammunition is to get a cheap Lee press, some good full length dies and the basic reloading things from Lee.
This wouldn't cost a lot and would pay for itself in very little time as compared to "BUYING" expensive ammo that wouldn't be perfect for your needs. Probably find it cheap by posting on the classifieds here.
Good luck with whatever you decide. 8)
