Lapua flash holes

I am building a 6.5x47 Lapua Ackley Improved for 1000yd. I would like to ream all the brass flash holes equal, but all I found was the Sinclair .0625 reamer. The standard flash hole is .058. Does anyone know a source for a .058 reamer, or is the 8% increase in size not worth worrying about?

Lapua small flash holes are NOT drilled. They are formed by a top punch meeting a bottom punch. The spec is 1.5mm or 0.059

If your flash holes are not occluded,as was the situation with some lots last year), I would leave them alone rather than ream to 0.0625. That said, many people ream without problems. I just don't think it's necessary if you have the correct pin on your decapper.

Jerry, you can use a pin vise with a # 53 drill bit to clean up the burrs if your brass has any in the flash holes. The # 53 bit measures .059 which is perfect and it will not open up the flash hole to a larger diameter. Bill
