lapua Factory ammo brass

that's my plan. just trying to figure out why it is so much lighter than all my Blue Box. definitely, the primer pockets had been crimped. seating the primers is a bit more difficult with this brass
That might be a blessing in disguise... Just think about longer time before lose primers....! :p

Not crimped. I have a single case like that I've used about four or five times. I think I picked it up at the range one day and it never gave any trouble at all.

Excellent question. I have the loaded subsonic 308 rounds and buy in bulk for my 308. I have not noticed any crimping on primer pocket. That picture is crazy- I have never seen anything like that. I don't know why they would crimp the pocket but I am not the sharpest guy around...?

I purchased some 1x fired Lapua 308 that has those same 3 little dimples. I've been loading and shooting them with no problems in my bolt 308.

took 'em out yesterday at 100 yds to refine any load changes with them compared to my Blue Box brass, even they they weigh 2.5 grs or so less than my Blue Box, they shot very good with essentially my same Blue Box loads. SD's in the single digits. i am going to sort 'em by weight and shoot them tomorrow @ 600 yds to test using them for an upcoming F/TR match. i am sure they will be fine. time will tell if they stand up to as many reloadings as the Blue Box stuff with my fairly hot 185 Juggernaut/Varget loads

That is called a stab crimp. It is, indeed a crimp, but is easily removed or left in place when seating a new primer. The new primer will push right past it. I see this type of primer crimp on all of my Greek HXP 30-06 brass for my Garands.
