Lapua brass/box question

I've noticed several classified ads of late, asking for Lapua brass in specifice packaging. For instance there is an ad currently in the classifieds WTB Blue Box 6BR, others ask for the old cardboard boxed brass - why the distinction?

I've seen somewhere about the brass being thicker or thinner based on when it was made. No personal experience, but I suspect that is why.

Cardboard box (the older of the 2 types) have neck wall thicknesses of .013" to .0135". "New" blue box (plastic) is approx. .001" thinner at .012" to .0125".

I have supplies of each and other than neck wall thickness, and maybe a slightly shorter O.A.L., as reported by some, they are equal in my eyes.

Just checked some random samples from a blue box and neck wall thickness ranged from .0135 to .014 for .308 Win.

They are specifically talking about 6 BR Lapua Brass.
