Lapua Blue-Box Hokum

It's advertised that the newer Blue-Box is packaged in a "blue box" that doubles as an ammo box. Well with the 6 BR, it doesn't work. The small cut-outs in the bottom are not deep enough to hold anything solid. The larger cut-outs on the lid will, if you could use the box upside down.

Either way the whole box is too high to hold the loaded cartridge and it all just falls into a jumble.

Here's a Dasher and a BR sitting in the top lid for illustration.

Am I as dumb as I look or am I missing something?

Mr. Moderator says: Snapped in place under the box lid is a rectangular plastic grid that fits in the bottom of the box. Pop the grid loose and slide it into the box. Side supports molded into the lower section hold the grid in place.

You are simply amazing Dave.

First time I tried and put the lid piece with the cups up. Popped it back out and then turned it over. Both ways work but this is the bomb.

Thanks.

I was gonna throw mine out.Thank you for your input as always.Sometimes the obvious seems impossible.LOL

You guys are scarin' me! Here I am in Vegas, several of the Finns got delayed in Helsinki and are getting in late tonight, then have to get up early to be at the meetings in the show tomorrow, and I get to explain all this?!

This has been an entertaining thread!

I will take some of the blue boxes to the Phoenix matches, if anyone wants them.

I'm lucky to even have friends. Especially after my gaff with the leade measuring tool I discuss in the 6 Dasher site.

Do not know anyone going to Phoenix. Been there multiple times and have friends near there. Great place to ride motorcycle north around Prescott. Never shot or hunted there. Many from the Manatee Co. Gun Club here in South Florida, travel to shoot all over the state. Some go north to Williamsport and other places. Not West. Guess we don't have the great shooters. Too much "fun in the sun".

Re: Lapua Blue-Box -- How to use as Ammo Box

Here is our original story from 1/25/2010. It is still in the Bulletin:

Lapua arguably has the best line of match-grade cartridge brass you can buy in the USA. And now Lapua has made its brass even better. Starting this month, when you purchase 100 pieces of Lapua brass, your cases will arrive in a handsome blue plastic box. Snapped in place under the box lid is a rectangular plastic grid that fits in the bottom of the box. Pop the grid loose and slide it into the box. Side supports molded into the lower section hold the grid in place.

Voila, instant Ammo Box! Each grid contains holes for fifty (50) loaded rounds or empty cases. The convertible plastic container/ammo box is a great idea that Lapua executed very nicely. Now you have even more motivation to purchase your cartridge brass from Lapua.
