Lapua 6BR flash hole burrs?

Leaddog

F-Class T/R
Recently bought 200 pieces of new Lapua 6BR brass for a Dasher build. On examination of the brass, almost every piece of brass has a small burr just inside the flash hole. Never saw this with the .308 brass I am most familiar with. Is this common to this brass or a quality control issue?

What tool do you recommend for removal?

Thanks.

A lot of Lapua brass has those pesky little burrs, and they can be removed with a flash hole reamer that is the correct size for the small hole.
Sinclair usually stocks the correct one to use, just let them know what your doing....

I use the Sinclair reamer on all my Lapua 6 BR brass. Don't know if it's a QC issue or not or just a fact of life.

To remove the little "c" from the side of the hole I use a pin vise with a #53 drill bit which is .0595". Big enough to work without enlarging the hole.
Available at hobby stores (model/RC cars etc).

With the way the flash holes vary now i use .0625 reamer and some it is little loose in the BR brass. The drill doesn't get it any more.......jim

I do the same as Jim just mentionned for 6BR Lapua brass. There seems to be a bit of variance in the flash hole bore size. Oddly, 222R Lapua brass has a larger flash hole (.067 to .068'') than their 6BR brass.
