Lapua 6 Dasher formed case length

Just curious as to what case length guy's are getting for false shoulder formed Lapua brass. I have twice fired brass that goes from 1.541 to 1.551 in length. Being OCD , Im wondering if I should worry and trim all to 1.541, or shoot them and trim anything over 1.550 to 1.550? Or, am I worried over nothing? Thanks for any help in advance...rsbhunter

Jet, thanks...measured 50 of them today, there is no great quantity of one length....it would be easy if there was...just going to segregate the closest ones to use in a match, and watch the lengths... Thanks for the reply...rsbhunter

well buy a slug from sinclair, and measure your chamber neck length.
pick a number, -.005/-.010 and do that.
most brass is cut way to short for the actual chamber
strange to see such variation....

762plinker, that's exactly how I feel....I could see .005 total variance in length....wish I had measured the new cases, but being Lapua, I'm sure they were pristine. The sizing, false neck , powder charge seating depth was on , as I won a match shooting the forming loads. I just contribute it to a wrinkle in the space/time continuim !!! rsbhunter

I always preferred them to come out short and consistent. The false shoulder is intended to keep the case head on the bolt face so they don't stretch. I would batch them by length before trimming for this set of brass, and modify the process next batch to attain more consistent results. That said, they likely won't give you any troubles per say.

What is surprising to me was that for fireforming , I fired them in a match...and won. They shot great, the es and sd was good...but, I'll monitor the cases as I shoot...rsbhunter
