Laminated stock bedding, New build

Building a .300 H&H on a Pre-64 M-70 magnum receiver. This action was originally a .300 H&H and wanted to keep the slick feeding attributes. The barrel is an H-S Precision 10X, 1-10" twist. It will finish at 26"-27". The barrel is a Remington style medium varmint taper with about a .750" muzzle diameter.
My question is about bedding a laminated wood stock blank. I can do just about anything necessary to this blank. In my experience, the M-70's shot the best when bedded with forend pressure as well as a bedding area under the chamber. Any input would be greatly appreciated. The wood will be finished with Tung oil, inside and out. I would like to create as solid and stable a platform as possible, using wood. I know, that is a dichotomy ;)! However, I am new to the laminated stocks.
I understand that proper inletting and standard pillar bedding are fundamental prerequisites.
Anyone wish to elaborate? I would be very greatfull for any and all input! Thanks in advance!
The possibility of a pack-in Elk hunt in big bear country looms in my future! Greg
