Lake city 5.56 brass question

I have always sorted by weight. Had really good results. Made Master Classification using it in High Power comps. LC brass with my old 600 yd service rifle load groups 3/4 MOA at 500 fired from a Tikka T3 Varmint. But then again I have never tried it at a benchrest match.

My Urbanrifleman's Wilson barrel will shoot under .75moa at 600 yards in mild conditions (5)mph winds.
53gr. Vmax. This is with '10, '18, '19 years mixed together.

Noticed a while ago all the different dates head stamps but never really cared much till about two months ago when I was doing some stuff with cast bullets and I strictly used 18 head stamps and the same load seems to tighten up a good bit.
With cast bullets, as often as not this could have been a happy coincidence.

In well made Service Rifle rigs, up to the 300 yard line, mixed head stamps have been demonstrated as not being a problem with getting groups well into the 10 ring. Clearly you can do better by reducing slop in the brass selection, but we know it would take really bad brass to cause a good SR to go outside the 10 ring. However, for the 600 yard line, it makes a difference.

If we are talking cast bullets, I have no idea what is considered good performance. My guess is with cast bullets you may have just seen a coincidence. With enough testing and repeatable results, you may be the one to come back and tell us since accuracy work in 223 with cast bullets is a rare game.

Shot service rifle competition for many years, won the Ga state HP championship 6 times against USAMU competitors and others, and all I used at the long line was LC brass. The AMU used LC brass at the 600, primed with whatever LC was using at the time for their 600 yard loading... LC might not the best brass, but it's certainly good enough for MOA at any yard line under 600 yards.

I'm having good luck with LC 21 brass shooting 2750fps loads with 77gr and 80gr SMKs. Also find Starline 5.56 brass to be very good quality that holds up well to heavy loads.
