Ladder Test Follow Up

I was able to shoot a 400 yard ladder with two powders after hearing chatter about H-1000. I have been using H-4350 in another barrel. I loaded 3/10 grain increments with H-4350, result was a 2 1/2 inch group that is difficult for me to figure. H-1000 was done in 1/2 grain increments and was a 5 1/2 inch vertical group. This makes more sense. I include a photo if anyone would like to comment. Thanks for looking

It looks like h1000 gave you a 1 grain node between 46.5-47.5 I would load 47 and start playing with accuracy. The 4350 is a little hard to read on my tablet but I'm not seeing any nodes as big as h1000 but it looks like you have a node between 40.6- 41.2.

Yeah... I sometimes shoot a ladder at 300 in .2 grain increments and they are hard to decipher but you can read them. I keep a target right by me and mark each shot as I take it so I don't get confused. I like to shoot them out around 500+, but sometimes it's not in the cards. It's never failed me yet though. I personally don't like shooting in .5 grain increments b/c I feel you could miss a node.

Quick look to me is 40.3-40.9 of H4350. I'll bet your go to load is 40.6 isn't it? LOL ... If not, that's what I'd be trying

In the H1000 I'd be trying a 45.3 and a 47 load.

Must be a 6CM or 6SLR, or one of those improved .243's if it's holding that much H1000?

(edited).. sorry fat fingered the 46.3

Am I missing something here? It looks like vertical is less than an 1" @ 400 yds. with H-1000 from 46 to 48 grains?

What was your seating depth? Didn't have a chrono hooked up I am guessing. I had 2 243AI's at the range for load development yesterday using H-1000 just in the quest of powder charge jumping 20. One is a 7.5 twist shooting DTAC's and the other an 8 twist shooting 105 HyBreds. The DTAC's found their spot at 48.5g with a 3048-3052-3054. The HyBreds found home at 49g with a 3135-3131-3140. Zero presure in either rifle. The H-1000 has been working out well for me. I am pretty confident it will for you as well.

I like the 4350 target. I see 3 nodes. 39.1 to 39.4, 40.3 to 41.2, and 41.4 to 41.8.

I would load in the middle of each node and shoot them at the intended distance.
