Ladder test at 300 yards 6.5x47, varget

Hi guys, need a bit help. I did a ladder test 300 yards. Loaded 95 grain V-Max starting at 34.5 and going up .5 grain. One ladder up, second down and third one up. There was little bit wind during shooting the third ladder. What do you think the not is?
Thanks

Personally, I like the overlap and vertical dispersion of your 8's and 9's. The 7's are scattering in and the 10's are just starting to scatter away, which aid in my assessment of 8/9. Vertically you have elements of 7/8/9/10 all over-lapping, with 9 yielding the best potential vertically !.!.!

9 looks wind sensitive though unless you had some nasty gusts when you shot those. 8 seams like a good load. I look for a rise and then drop in the groups back when I used this method. Now I just shoot groups.

I would ignore horizontal dispersion. Unless you can identify which ones were moved sideways by wind, bullet unbalance or your own variables in holding the rifle while the bullet goes through the barrel. Even then, one or two can cancel out another two or one.

Pick a load in the center third around 9, then shoot 15 to 20 of them in one group. It may well be as good as another one in that middle third.

Because I also consider windage. Barrels also vibrate horizontally, not only vertically (like some folks believe).

Next time shoot the ladders on different targets. Will help to see things more clearly.

kinda like this...

#14 & #15 look very consistent in all 3 ladders. That's where I would focus.

Load somewhere between the 2 and do a seating depth test.

ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT YOU GOT THIS BIG OF TARGET WITH THIS MUCH VERTICLE AT 300 YARDS?

My ladders aren't that tall at 750.

What am I missing?

Actually barrels oscillate around their central axis. It is in an oval/oblong movement.
It is believed that it gets higher in frequency as the bullet travels down the bore.

In my own ladder tests I look for overlap and ignore any horizontal, as this can be attributed to wind or barrel harmonics equally.

In my 22-250AI, I can change group size by altering seating depth alone, this is the only rifle I have ever had to do this so dramatically. Each bullet will tune at a different seating depth... weird huh?!

Cheers.

Most of the velocities are all over the place like this;
4) 36.0 2907 2787 2896
What chrono, what powder scale, brass prep, etc.
As stated those are ~1,000 yards size groups.
You needs to get the ES down to at least 20fps

Please do not take this wrong, trying to help. I do not see anything worth using. I would try another kind of bullet or powder. Also sight in with a middle of load test load. 8,9,10 if you must use what you have. Sorry

I am using new Lapua brass only chamfered, RCBS Chargemaster scale, Forester seating die. Chrono is LabRadar about 8' front of the barrel.
